《海角七號》戲院版預告
A nice love musical movie. Simple and sweet. Less talking, probably you don’t want to miss this movie…go!
Yes today, we went to The Cathay cinema to watch with our 2 nieces. This movie is organised by Alice’s company. Her company often got these lobangs from time to time. But this round, the tickets are not free. They are 50% subsidised.
The movie is quite funny. Got Ben Stiller and Chris Rock as back vocals. Indeed, the movie is quite entertaining. Bring your kids along and sure they will enjoy the movie. Some story plot if you are going to intend to catch the movie.
In the highly-anticipated sequel to ‘Madagascar,’ Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria, King Julien, Maurice and the penguins and the chimps find themselves marooned on the distant shores of Madagascar. In the face of this obstacle, the New Yorkers have hatched a plan so crazy it just might work. With military precision, the penguins have repaired an old crashed plane–sort of. Once aloft, this unlikely crew stays airborne just long enough to make it to the wildest place of all–the vast plains of Africa, where the members of our zoo-raised crew encounter species of their own kind for the very first time. Africa seems like a great place…but is it better than their Central Park home?
I met Dr. Jones and Hellboy during last weekend. Haha…its boy’s movies for me again. Anyway, Alice was such a lovely sleep-baby even the noises from the movies was deafening…remarkable feat by her…hehe…
About this movie Really, Harrison Ford is old but still agile like a monkey. If you have seen him in the previous Indiana Jones films, it also the same pattern here. Action-Adventure pack type shot in the 1930s. He searched for the crystal skull that has great magnetic forces and met a lot of weird creatures along the way where the crystal skull originates. Turns out to be from alien and hid its spaceship in the mountains. Seems like Sci-Fi hor…What happened in the end? For you to find out… Rating: 3.5 / 5
About this movie Well, Hellboy 2 is back again. He is still as clumsy as before. But he is almost dead in the movie, will u believe it? Never think he is invincible. Not a bad movie, tbh. Can watch when you are sicked of love movies, can promise you a lot of fighting between the good and the bad. Ang Gong Gong hellboy! Rating: 4 / 5
Yes, I have watched the The Incredible Hulk and The Mummy for these two days. Lotsa of movies for me to catch up. Simply fantastic for guys and boys who like these types of adventure and action movies.
About this movie Let’s talk about this giantic green man. There are many versions done. But I should say that the computer graphics are quite nicely done in this movie. What I like best is the last 30 mins of the movie. One mutated hulk versus the original green hulk. Well, it’s terrible to be a Hulk actually. Rating: 4 out of 5
About this movie Mummy mamamiya! Well, this is one movie that is packed with adventures. A group of british went to search the tomb of the Qin Emperor who built the China great wall. The backdrop was in the 30s with some shootings in Shanghai and the icy Himalayas. Will you believe that there is eternity lotion and water that makes you immortal. The whole movie is talking about how the Qin Emperor rose from the the dead to conquer the world. The computer graphics are okay la…but lacks the mystery mood in this movie. Rating: 4 out of 5.
Hoho…I am now going to watch Hellboy 2 and The X-files next….
Plot: In New York City, highly-strung stockbroker Joy (played by Cameron Diaz) is dumped by her fiancee and easy-going carpenter Jack (played by Ashton Kutcher) loses his job. Both become emotionally distraught and travel to Las Vegas with their best friends. They meet by chance in a hotel room that had been double-booked. After clearing up the misunderstanding, they drink together and end up getting married. They decide to divorce. Before they do so, Jack borrows a quarter from Joy and drops it into a slot machine as she walks away. He hits a $3,000,000 USD jackpot.
The couple returns to New York, where they attempt to divorce. Their judge declares that the couple cannot divorce until they attempt to co-exist for six months, while being monitored by a marriage counselor (played by Queen Latifah). They will be permitted to keep half the winnings from Las Vegas if they cooperate. If either party does not, their fortune will be confiscated. As the newlyweds devise more and more cunning schemes to undermine one another and keep the other’s share, Jack and Joy ironically find themselves developing an unexpected attraction to one another.
Rating: 3.5 / 5
Review: We watched and actually anticpated its ending. A fairly average movie for us. What we like is the setting is in the sin city, Las Vegas. The whole show was quite funny and enjoyable. Great love comedy.
With a budget of US$80million, “Red Cliff” is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date. The movie is based on historical records of “The Chronicles of the Three Kingdom” rather than the novel, “Romance of the Three Kingdom”. In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan (Chang Chen), calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei (You Yong) for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the strategists Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) see that Cao Cao’s army is unused to battling on the sea. With 200,000 men, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang defeat Cao Cao’s army at the Yangtze River.

About RED CLIFF
The story of RED CLIFF takes place in 208 AD in China during the Han Dynasty. Despite the presence of an emperor, Han Xiandi, China was then divided into many warring states.
The ambitious Prime Minister Cao Cao, by using the Emperor as his puppet, waged war on a kingdom in the west, Xu, ruled by the emperor’s uncle, Liu Bei. Cao Cao’s ultimate goal was to wipe out all the kingdoms and install himself as Emperor to a unified China. Liu Bei sent his military advisor Zhuge Liang as an envoy to the Wu Kingdom in the south, trying to persuade its ruler Sun Quan into joining forces. There he met Wu’s Viceroy Zhou Yu, and the two became friends amidst this uneasy alliance.
Enraged to learn that the two kingdoms have become allies, Cao Cao sent an army of eight hundred thousand soldiers and two thousand ships down south, hoping to kill two birds with one stone. Cao Cao’s army set up camp at Crow Forest, across the Yangtze River from Red Cliff, where the allies were stationed.
With the food supply running short, and the army vastly outnumbered by Cao Cao’s, the allies seemed doomed. Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang had to rely on their combined wisdom to turn the tide of battle. Numerous battles of wits and forces, on land and on water, eventually culminated into the most famous battle in Chinese history, where two thousand ships were burned, and the course of China’s history was changed forever. That was the Battle of Red Cliff.
hmm, there will be part 2 for this movie. So watch out!
Hello everyone !this is Alice and I’m back to blogging. I have been very very lazy to blog for a long time. Busy with my work, and lots of tenders to do. Lots of Durians eating sessions too. hehe.
Life has been good, won a good tender and hope the $$ will come to me soon. We have been spending some time with our nieces at Jurong Bird Park and Zoo lately. Got my corp pass for these 2 locations and had fun with my little gals. Special thanks to Denson, our driver cum camera man, who have to wake up very early on sat to pick our nieces from Hougang and drive us to Bird park and end of day, still have to send them back to Paya Lebar to the Granny hse, then come back to tampines again.
Sex and the City ( SATC ) is one of my all time fav TV series. I have follow it very faithful for all the seasons and never had enough of it. SATC movie is very nice. It’s pretty long ( est 2:20hr ). But i enjoy every part of it. Sweet ending with Carrie married Mr Big.
Next Sat is NDP, it is also my best fren’s wedding day @ Fullerton. Congrats to buddy, good bye to my red packet.
Yes, we have told you before that we will be back! Well, we have vanished into the world of our own for the past two weeks…hehe…
There are two DVDs that we watched over the weekend. Hitman and The Darjeeling Limited. Here is our two cents comments before you go to your favourite DVD store to grab them…
Synopsis: The best-selling videogame, Hitman, roars to life with both barrels blazing in this hardcore action-thriller staring Timothy Olyphant (Liev Free or Die Hard. A genetically engineered assassin, known as “Agent 47″, finds himself ensnared in life-or-death game of international intrigue and violent retribution.
DNA Reviews: Nice music background, lotsa of “unrated” scenes, some bloody shots. Got the prison break fellow in the show, wat a surprise. Bar-coded Botaks killing each other. Err…I give an average B+ rating. unfortunately is rated NC16, kids no see see hor…
Synopsis: Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman star as three brothers who have drifted apart over the years and try to re-forge their sibling bonds on a hilarious adventure across India.
DNA Reviews: We love the 11 pcs of luggages (named JLW) that the three brothers are carrying in the show. Even a belt has the same design! Got this ipod and speaker system that one of them is carrying. A truly amazing trip in India. Train can even get lost! Show has black comedy, funny at times, but stupid at times too. Average B- rating.
We will put up and recommend any DVD that is worth for our two cents. Come back for more reviews in the future.
